  Biography

  Giacomo Paci received the Ph.d. and M.S. degree in electronic engineering from the
University of Bologna, Italy, respectively in 2009 and 2005. He is currently a
post-doc researcher in the Department of Electronics and Computer Science in
the University of Bologna and he also a research member of Health and Technologies
Interdepartmental Center for Industrial Research of University of Bologna.

  Research

  Giacomo Paci's research is mostly focused on ultra low power
embedded system, especially for Wireless Sensors Network based upon Bluetooth,
IEEE802.15.4 and ZigBee radio protocols.
His work deals with electronic circuit design, firmware and radio stack development.
His aims are to improve battery powered radio system able to create complex application
scenario as cloud computing and sensing, applied to ambient assisted living,
smart building, green building. In detail the hot topic is to increase
the system energy efficiency employing aggressive power management,
distributed computation, energy harvesting and sensor fusion.
